RentRooster uses Veriff for identity checks before key marketplace actions. The identity-document capture happens through Veriff; RentRooster keeps the verification status and references needed to operate the account rather than storing a passport image in the marketplace database.
The owner decides before payment
A renter sends a request for specific dates. The owner can review it and accept or decline. Payment is only requested after acceptance, and the renter then has a payment deadline. This avoids charging someone before the owner has confirmed the rental.
Messages create context
Keeping material booking conversations on RentRooster gives both sides a shared record. If there is a disagreement about dates, condition, accessories or instructions, that context can be useful to the users and to platform support.
Protection still has rules
The RentRooster Lender Guarantee applies only to eligible rentals and is subject to exclusions, valuation rules and evidence requirements. It is not a substitute for taking sensible photographs, using equipment properly or reporting a genuine incident quickly.
